2020 Pre Season

With pre-season camps kicking off all across the United States we welcome you back to the Alamo City where your defending Honors Trophy and BSL Cup Champions have already had a busy go of things.  Usually the process of evaluating and projecting in regards to who to tag with DP and potentially RET and RE-ENT player designations.  Three DP slots are available along with one each for RET and RE-ENT.  The performances of the Battle players last season, clearly, were top notch and making decisions for 2020 were looking to be quite difficult.  The off-season had its own ideas though and already three options are off the table.  Taking a look at the BSL Double winning roster from last season shows:

Sebastian Blanco          POR
Zlatan Ibrahimovic        LAG
Cristian Pavon            LAG
Brian White               NYR
Mauro Manotas             HOU
Kristin Nemeth            SKC
Brian Fernandez           POR
Mason Toye                MNU
Angelo Rodriguez          MNU
Tomas Martinez            HOU
Andrew Wooten             PHI
Mauricio Pereyra          ORL
Memo Rodriguez            HOU
Brian Rodriguez           LAF
Alejandro Pozuelo         TOR
Vito Mannone              MNU
Vako Qazaishvili          SJE
Eloy Room                 CLB

The players in red will not be returning to Alamo City, the BLS, or MLS in 2020.  Both Zlatan and Fernandez were huge on the offensive end and helped take a good squad to an entirely new level.  Mannone was the GK of the year last season and single handedly saved the season on more than one occasion.  Outside of those departures the future of Mauro Manotas is up in the air as constant transfer rumors surround the forward.  Krisztian Nemeth might be the odd man out of the mix as Alan Pulido will assuredly start being the big name DP in SKC (and taking the 9 shirt) and the return of Khiry Shelton likely isn't for a bench spot.  Do the Battle take the chance with either of them?

There's a whole bunch of questions to be answered and perhaps the new BSL clubs can help answer them.  With THREE new clubs for the 2020 season there's some owners that need some players.  Alamo City is OPEN FOR BUSINESS in regards to trades!
