New Year - Same Battle

Alamo City SC Sets Tone For New Season With First Official Press Release

- San Antonio

First and foremost we want to say "Happy New Year" to the BSL Network and fans.  It has been one heck of an off-season so far with player movement and numerous opportunities opening up for the league and of course us.  Most notably is the departure of club and league legend Thierry Henry.  Our on-field and locker room leader for four seasons has chosen to move on from the playing portion of his career and we have nothing but thanks and praise for his efforts.  It is time though, to move forward.  We have and fully believe that a player already on our roster can step forward and carry the torch that Henry lit so brightly here.  Alamo City SC fully endorses its belief and officially announces that Obafemi Martins will return Alamo City for 2015 as a Designated Player.  Oba has lit the BSL on fire since his arrival just like Henry did.  This past season we saw him grow comfortable with the style and pace of the league and we cannot be happier or more optimistic about what the future holds.

With the option to retain a second player via the Designated Player mechanism, Alamo City is digging deep into the roster and identifying possible candidates but is open to trades and/or purchasing a player from another squad.  At this time we have three players (Tesho Akindele, Harry Ship, Gonzalo Pineda) that are eligible for the Retention Player slot.  Analysis is ongoing on these players and a decision isn't imminent as there is over a month before the deadline for both DP and Retention players.

Alamo City is actively looking into trades for draft picks.

More news as it becomes available.
