In a trade with new BSL team Shelby United, the Battle moved both Jurgen Locadia and Randall Leal to the expansion club in exchange for their second round expansion pick. "Locadia has all the talent in the world but he's just in a mess of a situation. To us, the gamble it all works out and is turned around quickly just wasn't worth it. Packaging him with Randall Leal, who we're actually very high on, allowed us to pick up a vital early pick for this season."
The Battle still have a DP slot to use and are seeing their options change almost hourly. Everything is in flux this off-season and the club just saw their Retention selection (Daryl Dike) go on a short term loan that will see him miss the first part of the season and potentially more as there's a purchase option. Brian Rodriquez was just sent out on loan as well, and also has a purchase option on his deal. Cristian Pavon's status is up in the air as well. Even with all of that, the Battle feel they have two solid options for that final DP slot as well as pieces to move around should another club want to deal.
Tough break on Dike. Pavon might stay with Galaxy. My 2 cents.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a bit shitty ... Will hold on as it's "short term" and if they don't push into playoff/promotion spot they don't have a reason to pull the trigger on the purchase.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I can get most of this year out of him.
