Match 9: Second City, First Place

Another Bout With a Team at the Top of the Table

- San Antonio

The season has already been long on some accounts. If it weren't for bad luck, Alamo City may not have any luck. That's not to say though, that the Battle are the only club facing a tough go of things during the first part of the season. The thing about Alamo City, is that for all of the progress that the Battle have made, it seems that last season's bad luck hasn't been completely shaken just yet. Despite the lingering issues the Battle are in a decidedly better position than they were in last year. The Battle have managed to stay smack in the thick of things and are in position to make some headway before they head into their first match of the Freedom Cup.

"Even with the lingering dark clouds we've made improvements this far and the results are reflecting that. We're in the middle of the pack and right around the playoff positions. We're leading the league in points and APG and we're pushing our MOV upwards pretty much every week. The biggest thing about our play this year is that we're showing up each and every week. In fact, in two of our losses this year we actually had the points to win but it was decisions on the management's part that left the points out of play. Our players are doing what they're supposed to on the field. As long as we can make the right decisions we like where this season is headed."
