First Half Down - Transactions

With their 7-5 win over 2nd in the East, Washington Republic, Alamo City was able to finish off the 1st half of the BSL season with some breathing room at the top of the conference. Sitting on 19pts the Battle have the 2nd best record with half the season gone. The kicker? The team with the best record, Phoenix Sky, suffered their only blemish thus far at the hands of Alamo City. It's been a tough exchange essentially every week thus far as the Eastern Conference has shot out of the gate on fire.

"Just take a look at the numbers ... 5 of the top 7 scoring teams are on this side of the League. We've got 4 clubs that are knocking in 5pts per match on average so far? It's insane. The League as a whole is deeper than it's ever been at the half way point. It's a crap shoot each week. For us, it's a good thing the offense started clicking when it did ..."

That offensive take off is what has propelled Alamo City toward the top of the League. It happened at just the right time too as the Battle have seen three games where despite a strong output, they were pushed to the final minutes of the match. Three times the battle have scored 7 or more in a match only to have their opponents hit for 5 or more themselves.

Now the season takes a break as the NAMC opens up. Alamo City is going to need all of the offensive fireworks they can muster. The Battle open the NAMC with high flying NYCFC in a match up of high octane vehicles.

In preparation for the NAMC and second half of the season Alamo City has conducted the following player transaction:

DROP: Schmitt (RSL) - Derrick Etienne (CLB)

SIGNED: Ismael Kone (MTL) - Dylan Borrero (NE)

  1. keeping the pressure on me. not making an excuse but I was missing 5 starters in our match. But you won the battle (no pun intended) of attrition and showed more depth in that one. one more thing. why do you only show 2 stars on your logo?

    1. I had a couple folks out too but it was a shallower match up than it should have been for sure. I just haven't updated the website with the new header image LOL
