Offseason

In light of recent news from the Commissioner about Budgets going away, the Alamo City Soccer Club has gone back into assessing the roster and making decisions about who (if anyone) the club would like to retain for the 10th Anniversary BSL season in 2018.  While the FO has a good idea and has earmarked a handful of players, the club is willing to entertain trades.


"We're absolutely open to hear from any club about any player," stated the FO after a closed door meeting.  "We've assigned our own valuations to our current roster and of course have pegged the individuals we would like to try to bring back into the fold but we will absolutely listen and negotiate should someone want to inquire about anyone on our roster."

OFFSEASON - 3rd DP Purchase

ALAMO CITY PURCHASES 3rd DP SLOT FOR 2018 SEASON

Coming of an exhilarating campaign that included everything but hardware to add to the cabinet, the Alamo City Battle Soccer Club has purchased a 3rd Designated Player slot from the league.  "It's quite clear we built a solid core this season and were finally able to revamp our lineup.  We intend to build on that core of individuals for next season in order to cap off what we regained this season ... our winning edge."  When pressed for names the FO wasn't offering up any clues or indicators as to which players would be kept as DP's for next season.  The only hint at returning players was in the form of the answer to the question of whether or not the club would use its Retention Slot.  "Yes" was the one word answer.  The club also appears to be combing the rosters for a Re-Entry player as well.

MC FINAL - Transaction

For Alamo City the final match of the season perfectly sums up the clubs' existence.  After turning a complete 180 at mid-season and roaring into both the BSL Cup Playoffs and Majors Cup Playoffs, the club was met with a flat performance and an ungraceful exit from BSL Cup contention.  Now, after being the hottest team in MCQ's the Battle must take down rival, CD Gunners, to take home any hardware to properly reflect the effort of the club this season. 

Before the MC Final, Alamo City announces the release of David Bingham and the signing of Stefan Aigner (COL).
