2023

The Battle are intent on following up yet another strong season with one that adds more trophies to the collection.

Season Over

Alamo City may have won the war against rival Capital District, but the Gunners won the most important battle this weekend. Despite the strong season and sitting atop the East for essentially the entire season, Alamo City fell 8-6 in the semi-finals of the BSL playoffs.

It is yet another insanely strong season with nothing to show for the efforts.

Alamo City has captured the signature of Nicholas Gioachinni (ORL). The starlet has already impressed on the National Team level and is coming into the BSL in a great position to contribute for the Battle. Playing his MLS games in Orlando where wing/outside forward play is desperately needed appears to be a perfect fit for his game.

To make room for Gioachinni the Battle have released Raheem Edwards (LAG)

Battle Take Classic

An 11-11 shootout between Alamo City and Capital District means that the first leg score line of 9-1, in favor of the Battle, determined the 2022 BSL Classic. This marks the first time in the rivalry history that Alamo City has claimed victory in consecutive seasons.

BOXSCORE:
11 | AC  > Reynoso (Y/2G) | Muhktar (G) | Cucho (2G) | Slonina (CS) | Driussi (A) | S.Rodriguez (A) | Amarilla (2A) | Ulfarsson (G)

11 | CD  > Kikanovic (A) | Zelarayan (2A) | B.Vasquez (G) | Gil (A) | Gazdag (G) | Blake (SP) | Barrios (A) | Gauld (Y/G/A) | Arriola (G)

With three players netting a brace it was hard to award a MOTM, but it was Reynoso's play that sparked the comeback and helped push the Battle to manage a result in the second leg of the Classic.

A much needed three points found their way to the Alamo City this past weekend. The fixture congestions means that the season can turn around in the blink of an eye.  Tommy had been claimed already so Alamo City will retain Indiana Vassilev (MIA)

Week 11 - Transactions

Alamo City goes into Week 11 hoping to get back on the winning track. The club made an audacious move by signing Cucho Hernandez. In order to do so the Battle had to release a player that was arguably their best signing to start the season, and best performer so far, in Jesus Jimenez. It's an immediate reduction in capability but one that potentially will raise it overall once Cucho hits the field in early July.
