Pre-Season Moves

Alamo City Formally Puts Intentions on the Table

The Alamo City Soccer Club is looking to make some moves before the 2014 Season Draft.  The Battle would to acquire 1st or 2nd round picks.  Below is the roster that Alamo City currently holds the rights to before the draft kicks off.  All offers will be entertained, but obviously a few players will command premium prices.  Unfortunately Camilo signed with Liga MX side Queretero in the off-season and is no longer on the Alamo City books.  His conduct was beyond unprofessional and the Battle are looking for some kind of compensation but it is likely to happen due to the nature of things.  The MLS gave up on holding the player accountable and that pretty much shoots Alamo City in the foot.

Thierry Henry
Olmes Garcia
Fabinho
Jordan Harvey
Giles Barnes
Conor Doyle
Diego Fagundez
Obafemi Martins
Mauro Diaz
Charlie Davies
Alex Lopez
Will Johnson
Bradley Wright Phillips

David Ousted

Draft picks, player swaps, combinations, or whatever.  The FO at Alamo City will take into serious consideration any and all possibilities.

2013 Year In Review - Banner Season

Club's Record Setting Season Still Falls Short

The 2013 season was a banner year for the Alamo City Soccer Club.  The potential that the side had shown for years finally came to fruition as the Battle set 6 BSL records and tied another 5 records.  In capturing the Honors Trophy, Major's Cup, Founder's Cup, and Freedom Cup the Battle dominated all facets of the game and even added another Brass Cannon to their cabinet.  The one thing that eluded the club this season ?  The big one.  "Our 2009 BSL Cup is still lonely," stated Alamo City management, "and that's a shame considering the season we had."  As stated, the club did just about everything you could do in 2013 to include something it'd never done before.  "Yeah, we finally got the best of the Gunners and brought the Classic to San Antonio."  Despite all of that Alamo City didn't manage to capture the most sought after trophy of all.

It is understood around the Battle front office and training ground that the ultimate goal wasn't reached, but now that the sting of crashing out of the playoffs has worn off a bit, Captain Thierry Henry was able to properly reflect on the season.  "Certainly we wanted to win the BSL Cup.  It's the championship of the league and why we're all here.  Still, the season we had doesn't happen very often.  When you set records, win a league double, and fill your trophy case with several other pieces of hardware you have to appreciate and enjoy what you did.  It would be a shame for myself, the fans, the front office, and the guys in the locker room to miss out on what we did do simply because there was one thing we didn't."

The club fully intends to do that in mid-February with a kit launch party that will include the announcement of any retention and/or DP players for the 2014 season.  There are decisions to be made, negotiations to be had, and possibly deals to be done as the 2014 season starts now.
