Playoffs - Quest for the Cup

Alamo City Seeks to Cap Dream Season

Simply put, it won't be a dream season unless the Battle win their next two matches.  In order to wrap up (and then go for the icing in the Major's Cup) the greatest season in club history, the Battle must beat an opponent that has owned them historically and the potentially face the only club that has beaten them all season.

Simple.

That's how it always seems to work out for Alamo City.  Even in the midst of a storybook journey, there are seemingly impossible odds stacked against them.  On top of the opponents in the playoffs, some of Alamo City's big names may not be available for the semi-final match up.  The roster selection is tricky at best.  If it were easy though, Alamo City simply may not know what to do.

Semi Final Lineup:

Thierry Henry
Camilo
Olmes Garcia
Will Johnson
Jordan Harvey
Giles Barnes
Conor Doyle
Diego Fagundez
Charlie Davies
Mauro Diaz

Jimmy Nielsen

Fabinho
Alex Lopez
Obafemi Martins

Bradley Wright Phillips

Redemption is the Goal in Final Week

The Final Week of Regular Season Play Gives Alamo City a Shot to Revenge Their Lone Defeat

Orange County is coming to San Antonio this weekend.  Stone Oak Park will be sold out (again) and the Battle will look to avenge their only loss of the season.  Too sweeten the pot a bit, if the Battle do avenge their loss or merely draw the match, it could send Orange County to an early end of the season.  Depending on other results, the Zodiac may not be able to afford anything other than a win.  Even with everything sowed up for the post season, Alamo City has plenty to play for this weekend.

Win Record - Brass Canon - Controversy

2-0 Win Over Alliance Gives Alamo City Single Season Win Mark

It was a good and bad week for the Alamo City Battle.  The club beat Alliance 2-0 to obtain the all time win record in a single season.  There was a bit of a stain over the week though as the announcement that Clint Dempsey was coming to the league.  Obviously everyone was interested but it was Alamo City's approach that brought on a controversy.

"We won't get into details because we don't want to dwell on things.   What we do wish to do though, is apologize for our reaction.  While we'll never be apologetic about our passion, drive, and strategy as a club ... well will apologize for reactions and comments made in the heat of things.  With the meticulous approach we bring to every facet of this organization it is inexcusable that we release an off the cuff reaction like we did.  This organization will continue to do any and everything it can within the rules of the Bigtime Soccer League in order to be its best club.  We understand that not everyone will see eye to eye with our strategies and our approach.  We respect everyone's view and ask only that ours are as well."

Also, the ACSC has officially taken home the Brass Canon for 2013.

Attempt at History - Again Plus a Transaction

Battle Take on Alliance in Potential Record Breaking Match

There's always a tag line not matter what week it is in the BSL.  This week Alamo City is chasing the all time single season win total as the club makes preparations for the BSL Playoffs.  What on the surface seems to be a favorable match up could easily turn into a trap game.  The Battle are fully aware of this as the exact same type of scenario caught them last year.  With the Honors Trophy and #1 seed in the playoffs secured, the club can afford to go after a bit of pride the next few matches.  They'll have to keep up the pace if they want to obtain the BSL win record though as Alliance boasts several former Alamo City players.

Alamo City, pending league approval, releases Steven Caldwell (TFC) and signs Dimitry Imbongo (NE).
